Seagirls at Te Puru

NFS

An imaginary scene of my 2 daughters playing on the beach at Te Puru on the Thames Coast. My younger daughter always called seagulls “seagirls” – hence the name. The stumpworked girls’ swimsuits are true to the originals and a trapunto technique for the trunk and “fussy cutting” of fabrics for the foliage on the pohutukawa give a 3D effect.
